I worked and hope to work again, in the Modern Language Resource Center at GVSU. We’re around technology all day long. We’ve recently switched to all Macs. I’ve never been uncomfortable in working with the technology in the lab which ranges from database maintenance to emailing professors. I grew up with Macs, so I welcome the change.

I’ve grown up with computers. My father was a journalist and came home with an old osborne suitcase computer when I was little. The computer was the size and shape of a midsized samsonite suitcase, and the screen was about the size of a postcard with glaring green letters. Five minutes of typing guaranteed a migraine.

My latest computer is a powerbook, it’s a little worse for wear after traveling around the world. I started blogging 6 years ago, and grew tired of it quickly. I still use my blog occasionally to keep friends and family updated while overseas. I think it’s better than mass emailing. They can check in if they want to, and it saves me from remembering who to send an email to.

Educational techonology is using technology to enhance your classroom and lesson plans, and incorporate technology into assignments as well.

I am buddies with David Westerhoff-Schultz who runs the modern language lab, I believe. Need me to put in a good word for you?
